The further North you go the cleaner the air gets, but in the west the air is still smokey. The fire is still burning in Sanpete county and is twenty percent contained, but has reached close to 46,000 acres. This is easily one of the most devastating fires Utah has seen. The livestock death count is rising, and those that aren't dead are left on scorched grazing ground. We are continuing our fundraiser and now partnered with Wag-N-Train Dog Rescue, an amazing non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. Wag-N-Train Dog Rescue rescues all dogs along with offering many beneficial resources to training dogs. I will be back tomorrow to give you an update. In the meantime keep everyone who has lost so much in your thoughts, and enjoy your summer.

Sanpete County Fire Fund
June 26, 2012
So far the news has reported over 40,000 acres have been burned, numerous homes have been evacuated, and the livestock death count is rising. This fire started Saturday June 23 one mile from Fountain Green and quickly spread. The dry grass, wind and extreme temperatures did not create cooperative circumstances to putting the fire out.
The city of Fairview has been evacuated! Big Hollow, Water Hollow and Big Horn Roads are closed!
Many ranchers that have property burned by the Big Hollow fire reside in Fairview so we hope that they will be able to return to their homes. We will keep you updated on all incoming information. We will be taking a truck load of hay to the ranchers on Saturday or as soon as the roads re-open.
We would just like to thank all of the donations that have come in so far, thank you for all of your support. Even if you cannot not donate please spread the word. If you can help in any way comments are appreciated.

Sanpete County Fire Fund
On June 25 the Wood Hollow fire started. It has burned at least 50,000 acres. Our property of 40 acres burned with our trailer. This is not the tragedy I am writing about. Many ranchers have lost thousands of acres and livestock. Specifically my neighbor across the road from me lost his entire ranch. 3500 acres of his have burnt. At the time he had about 40 horses on it. Ten of his horses have made it off the property. Ten charred carcasses have been found and twenty horses are still missing on the mountain. We are praying they found relief from the flames. The horses that were on his range land were his personal horses, his best trained, and his grand children's horses. He was only a week from putting another 100 horses on this range. Luckily he did not. However, his range land has been burnt and he has no more range ground for his remaining horses. I am sending 50 bales of my own hay to him at the end of the week. I am currently trying to get donations of more hay or money. I understand that most people cannot donate hay. But if I can get many people to donate $5, $10, or even $20, I can buy a truckload of hay from Wyoming or Idaho and get relief to the ranchers and livestock of North Sanpete County that have been left without livelihood because of the Wood Hollow fire. If you cannot donate please pass this along. A little bit from a lot of people still adds up.
If you could give me, Phillip Miller, the money or check personally, or send it to 1359 west 600 south Provo, Utah 84601. All of the money will go to ranchers or to buy hay for ranchers. I am donating my time, hay, gas and money for this cause. I will not use one penny of this money for anything including gas. If you need a receipt please let my know and I will get you one ASAP. We are working to get bank accounts set up with local banks and a trust. As soon as that is set up I will forward instructions to donate directly to these. In the mean time we need money and hay as soon as possible. Ranchers have burnt land and livestock without food. A pay pal account is in the process of being set up.
